ZFS is an amazing invention, and the fact it’s been given a Best File System award didn’t even surprise me. It’s quite natural. I’d have been surprised if it hadn’t been given it.
From all remaining commercial UNIXes, Solaris is indeed, the most innovative one, not a dying system, but a mature and developing one. I use it every day not only on our company servers and my workstation, but even on my home machine where it does all the functions of home computer.
